Hello There!

My name is Serge Kikonda and I am the founder of FAITH Goalkeeping.

I am originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Though the early parts of my childhood and adulthood were spent in different countries in Africa, I graduated high school in 2014 in Conakry, Guinea, from "Le Lycée Albert Camus (LAC)" a French high school. Shortly after that, I decided to pursue my college education at the University of Cincinnati (UC). The transition from the French Education System to the American Education System was rough. I was even denied access to prep classes when I first started. But despite all that, I graduated as a University Scholar after 5 years at UC, earned the highest honor (Summa Cum Laude), maintained a 4.0 GPA and earned 3 degrees in Information Technology (IT), with a focus in Cybersecurity.

In case you are wondering, NO! I am not saying all these things to brag about myself, but rather to show that I know the value and importance of hard work. My achievements did not come by magic and they certainly were never handed to me. I had to earn them by working very hard. And this is something I am big on. I put so much emphasis on hard work and effort in virtually everything I do, especially when I am coaching.

Speaking of coaching, to say that I love it would be an understatement. To be more specific, I love the teaching and mentoring aspect of coaching. For instance, while at UC, I worked as a Tutor and Supplemental Instructor (SI) for a little over 2 years. I have been (and still am) a Sunday School teacher at my church, Citygate Church, caring for and teaching kids ages 1 and up every Sunday since May 2016. As a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME), I get to teach people and organizations about the importance of cybersecurity and how they can keep themselves online and their assets safe from unauthorized access.

Even though I coach on a part-time basis, I enjoy every second I am out on that pitch. Since I started this journey back in 2017, I have been able to see the impact I am having on lives of so many. That matters to me more than anything else! Coaching allows me to oversee someone’s growth and development, both on and off the pitch. Because of that, I have seen numerous keepers, who play at various levels (youth, high school, collegiate athletes, pro, etc.), grow and become the best versions of themselves.
